Can you upgrade your car using only products from TEMU? That’s exactly what I set out to find in a recent experiment, and the results were both surprising and hilarious. From stylish upgrades to outright fails, here’s how my Honda Civic fared with a series of budget car accessories from TEMU.

The Setup

The idea was simple: buy car accessories exclusively from TEMU and see what works, what kind of upgrades I could achieve, and what turned out to be a total bust. Armed with everything from carbon fiber canards to a wireless charger, I dove headfirst into the DIY madness.

Carbon Fiber Canards

First up were the carbon fiber canards, designed to add a touch of aggression to the Civic’s bumper. Installation was straightforward—just adhesive to slap them on. While they looked sleek, the final result was a little… catfish-like. Still, not a bad start!

Steering Wheel Cover

Next, I unboxed what I thought was a leather steering wheel cover, only to discover a carbon fiber twist. Getting it on was a workout, but it added a grippy, sporty feel to the wheel. Functional and stylish—this one was a win.

Dent Popper

The TEMU dent popper was supposed to work magic on a small ding. While it didn’t fully erase the dent, I convinced myself it looked slightly better. Verdict? Maybe better for minor imperfections, but don’t expect miracles.

Special Vibes Neon Light

This one wasn’t so much a car upgrade as a vibe check. The neon light, labeled “Special Vibes,” was fun, bright, and instantly transformed my car’s interior. Honestly, I might keep this one in my room instead.

Recaro Neck Pillow

A headrest pillow featuring the iconic Recaro branding seemed promising. It attached easily to the seat and provided decent support, though I had to stretch it a bit to fit. Not bad for comfort during those long drives.

Brembo Caliper Covers

Here’s where things got dicey. These “calipers” turned out to be thin plastic covers with no way to secure them properly. They dangled and eventually fell off—a total fail. Do not recommend.

LED Light Kit

The LED strips were meant to make the setup brighter but felt more like indoor lighting for a dorm room. While the glow was fun, they weren’t practical for a car. Another miss.

Type R Fender Flares and Hood Scoop

These adhesive fender flares and hood scoop added some visual drama to the Civic. The fit wasn’t perfect, but they gave the car a sporty, “Type R-inspired” look. A decent option if you’re into bold aesthetics.

Wireless Charger Pad

Surprisingly, this product worked well. Though the wire dangled awkwardly, the pad successfully charged my phone. It’s not the most elegant solution, but it’s functional.

Door Sill Protector

This was supposed to protect the interior from scratches. Unfortunately, it didn’t stick well and was quickly deemed a failure.

HUD Speed Display

A small screen claimed to display speed readings. While it lit up, it wasn’t accurate or reliable, earning a zero out of ten.

Air Scoop

The hood-mounted air scoop added a touch of flair but didn’t quite scream functionality. Think of it as a cosmetic addition, nothing more.

Quick Releases for the Bumper

These were meant to make bumper removal easier but required drilling into the car. Since I wasn’t ready to commit to that, these stayed in the “nope” pile.

Clip and Trim Kit

Finally, something useful! This kit saved the day by fixing loose clips on my hatchback. It was easy to use and provided a secure fit—definitely a win.

The Final Result

After a day of experimenting, my Civic was decked out with a mix of hits and misses. From sporty fender flares to a functioning wireless charger, some products genuinely impressed me. Others, like the Brembo covers, were outright flops.
